Welcome to the project homepage for the Liverpool-Ireland Abortion Corridor: Between History, Activism and Medical Practice. Kindly supported by the Wellcome Trust, the project explores the cultural and historical dimensions of the LIAC as well as the caregiving practices and lived experiences which continue to shape it. Adopting an interdisciplinary approach, the project brings together historical, sociological, and health perspectives with the aim of enlivening a sustained analysis of the Irish abortion trails and trail-making.
Between March 2016 and March 2017, the funding supports a scoping study of the LIAC (details of which are provided here) and four day-long workshops in Liverpool, Belfast, and Dublin.
This page will be updated as the project unfolds. To find out more about the workshops and the research email: firstname.lastname@example.org
